The most important thing to start doing is prayer. Prayer is having a conversation with God. We talk and then we listen. We express our feelings to him honestly and with respect. The only way to truly know someone is to talk with them and listen closely to what they have to say.
The next most important thing you can do to further your walk is to read the Bible. The Bible is God’s blue print and hand book on life. Through it God shows us all about who we are and what we are to do in life. Don’t worry if you do not understand everything you read. Remember we have a direct line of communication to God through prayer. Never forget that we can ask him to help us understand what we read. Start by reading the book of John and ask God to speak to you through His word. If you do not have a Bible please contact us and we will help you get one.
The next thing that will help you is to have Fellowship. God has created us for relationships. I know it can make us vulnerable at times, but ultimately we need encouragement and also we need teaching to help us with our walk with God. Find a Bible believing church (click here for help in finding a church) who puts God first. Pray and ask God to show you where to go. Remember God has created us for relationships so at a church we can find out how to serve him and help others who need Him too.
